Fluoxymesterone is an extremely potent anabolic androgenic steroid first introduced in the late 1950s by Upjohn under the trade name Halotest. A short time later, Ciba İlaç was launched under the name of Ultandren, but Halotest remained the most well-known brand. It now manufactures Halotest, formerly Upjohn and now Pharmacia.

When Halotest first hit the market, it was noted to have numerous therapeutic benefits. This extremely powerful anabolic steroid; It is prescribed for muscle wasting, male androgen deficiency, lean tissue repair, malnutrition, and healing of bone fractures. It has also been used to treat exposure to cortisone, paraplegia, breast cancer. Unlike many anabolic steroids, Halotest has been prescribed to men and women, and although its use today is somewhat limited, it is still used in some women to treat breast cancer. The hormone is still used to treat androgen deficiencies in some men and is approved for the treatment of osteoporosis in some postmenopausal women.

Halotest Function and Properties
Fluoxymesterone is an anabolic androgenic steroid derived from testosterone and more specifically a structurally altered form of Methyltestosterone. Halotest is a testosterone hormone with a methyl group added at the 17th carbon position to allow for oral intake. It also has an additional fluoro group at carbons 9 and 3 and a hydroxyl group at carbon 11. These modifications inhibit the aromatization of the steroid and greatly increase its androgenic nature. The androgenic nature and activity of Halotest will go far beyond Methyltestosterone.

By its structural design, Halotest has an anabolic rating of 1,900 and an androgenic rating of 850. All ratings are measured against pure testosterone, scoring 100 in both categories. This means that Halo has ratings that are almost unreasonable as is often seen, but its anabolic rating is very deceiving. While it carries a large anabolic rating, its anabolic translation in humans appears to be close to zero. This steroid simply does not translate into a notable anabolic effect and functions primarily with androgenic activity.
Halotest has the ability to greatly increase hematocrit and hemoglobin levels, as well as red blood cell production. It also provides energy increase, strength and endurance in the muscles. It also provides aggression. Due to these properties, it is used by weightlifters and athletes dealing with martial arts for instant effects before the competition.
Halotest also has powerful fat-burning properties. Halo has the ability to promote the regulation of fatty acid oxidation in the liver and muscle mitochondria.

Halotest Side Effects
Although it has many therapeutic and performance enhancing properties, it is a compound with stronger side effects than other steroids. Its hepatotoxic effect on the liver and its negative effects on the heart are of considerable importance. It also causes testosterone suppression in men. In women, it can have side effects such as amenorrhea and virilization.
The most common side effects are usually

  • headache
  • skin color changes
  • increase / decrease in sexual desire
  • oily skin
  • hair loss and
  • acne

    Use of Halotest
Halotest doses can vary between 10-40 mg per day for performance enhancement. 10mg per day will produce noticeable results, but most see 20mg per day as a more beneficial dose that can be controlled with proper use by a healthy adult male. If such a dose is well tolerated and more is desired later, 40 mg per day may be attempted. But such a dose will greatly increase the likelihood of adverse effects and may be excessive for some men. Regardless of the dose, 2-4 weeks of use is recommended. Also, regardless of dose, Halo, like most oral anabolic steroids, should be taken on an empty stomach. Taking it with food may decrease its bioavailability.
Halotest can also be taken to treat androgen problems and is normally given at a dose of 20 mg per day. This dose is normally adjusted downward after passing short-term initial therapy. The total dose is normally in the range of 5-20 mg per day, depending on the individual’s needs. Such use can sometimes be prolonged; however, it should be used under observation for its effects on cardiovascular and liver health. This treatment is somewhat rare in the modern age, but can be beneficial for some men.
