What is Nandrolone Phenylpropionate (NPP)?
Nandrolone phenylpropionate is an anabolic steroid that is often confused with Nandrolone Decanoate. While the two are similar, they are different compounds. Nandrolone Phenylpropionate was the first commercially available nandrolone compound and was introduced by Organon in the 1950s under the name Durabolin. A similar compound, deconate derivative deca durabolin, was launched shortly after by the same company.

Nandrolone phenylpropionate is a short estered anabolic steroid and is often referred to as NPP. The longer ester version has not been as popular as an Nandrolone Decanoate because NPP is hard to find; but in the modern era, both its use and availability have increased thanks to UGL manufacturers.

NPP has many therapeutic and performance enhancing properties. Although the Nandrolone hormone is the most commonly prescribed anabolic steroid other than testosterone, the Decanoate version is the most commonly prescribed form of Nandrolone. It is one of the best tolerated steroids, both performance and medical, although possible side effects certainly do exist.

Nandrolone Phenylpropionate Functions and Properties
NPP, 19-nortestosterone (19-nor) is an anabolic androgenic steroid. In 19-nor, the classification refers to a structural change of the testosterone hormone in which the carbon atom is removed from the 19th position. As a result of this simple structural change, Nandrolone is formed and Nandrolone Phenylpropionate is formed by adding the short phenylpropionate ester.

According to the function of the hormone, NPP and Nandrolone Decanoate are the same. Both forms consist of the same active hormone. NPP has a shorter half-life than Decaonate due to its short ester bond, so it requires frequent injections to maintain its stable values ​​in the blood.

NPP has an anabolic rating of 125, indicating that it has slightly more anabolic properties than testosterone, which has an anabolic score of 100. It also has an androgenic score of 37, indicating that it is less androgenic than testosterone with a score of 100. The reduced androgenicity is due to the reduction of the Nandrolone hormone to dihydronandrolone (DHN) instead of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). This is one of the reasons why Nandrolone Phenylpropionate is better tolerated in some men at higher doses than higher doses of testosterone.

NPP is significantly less estrogenic than testosterone. Although both Nandrolone and testosterone aromatize; Nandrolone does only about 20% of testosterone.

Important Note: NPP has a progestin feature in its structure and this is one of the side effects of the hormone.

NPP has many positive properties similar to other anabolic steroids. However, this compound also has functional properties that far outweigh what some steroidal hormones can do. The positive functional properties of NPP include:

Important Note: Nandrolone is said to increase fluid in the joints thereby providing relief. This is physically impossible. It is not water, it is the increase of collagen synthesis and bone mineral content that provides relief.
